Thanks to two expertly-taken goals from Argentine striker Diego Milito, FC Internazionale Milano won it's third European Champion Clubs' Cup, and their first in 45 years, against FC Bayern München at the Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid on Saturday May 22, 2010.
Despite a big advantage in ball possession, Bayern never managed to penetrate Inter’s defensive wall, guarded by its two South American central defenders, the Brazilian Lúcio and the Argentine Walter Samuel. As Bayern tried to push forward, it left itself exposed to lethal counter-attacks, spearheaded by Milito, who scored both goals.
