Watch Torbay Week 2010 Live Online
One of the best regattas on the South Coast of UK kicks off this week as the four sailing clubs of Torbay (Babbacombe, Brixham, Paignton and Torquay) come together to create six-days of highly-charged competitions at the Torbay Week 2010.
This is the third year in which the regattas at Torbay have been combined into one event in this sheltered bay in the 'English Riviera'. This year's event runs from August 20-25, 2010. The time-honoured Fancy Dress Pursuit Race is set on Friday evening in aid of the Royal National Lifeboat Institute. Crews that do not compete in costume are liable to an additional handicap weighting of 20% of the yacht’s elapsed time.
Torbay Week 2010 offers plenty of shore-based entertainment as well. Each of the organizing clubs will be holding events and major attractions such as firework displays and the Red Arrows aerial show.
